The briefing process
Marketing plans its campaigns well ahead of time. They allocate pages for the various purchasing departments and keep track of photos and copy, etc. The buyers describe and prioritise offers, and can immediately enter dummy offers, for example, when they find a new product at a trade fair in Peking. When the catalogue is ready for finished illustration, texts, prices and images/logos etc. are exported to InDesign or QuarkXPress for completion. Corrections made after export are updated to the layouted catalogue.
Management can keep track of current briefings and campaign budgets, etc. External partners can also gain access, i.e. advertising agencies, photographers, printers, etc.
